Trip to the Talamanca Mountains

Date:December 18, 2018Location:Talamanca Mountains, Costa Rica

In December 2018, a group from American Legion Post CR10 and ARCR headed to the Talamanca Mountains in Costa Rica to help the indigenous people (Cabécar) who are primarily hunter-gatherers.

The American Legion has been going there for many years. This time the operation was headed by Martha Rollins (the wife of American Legion Member Roger Rollins, who also went on this trip). We went to two schools and all the children and families met at these schools.

We brought toys, fruit, backpacks, entertainment, and food to be cooked. This time, we also brought two doctors and for some, it was the first time they had ever seen a doctor.
